Indianapolis has long been the amateur sports capital of the nation, and has backed its claim to that title by hosting some of the most prestigious tournaments and sporting events in the world. In addition, the city is the headquarters for the NCAA. What better place -or more logical site- for a first rate athletic training education program. At the University of Indianapolis we can stake a claim to that distinction.
The athletic training program is CAATE* accredited with highly competitive admission standards. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Science degree and meet the requirements to take the Board of Certification Examination. The major can be completed in four years and allows students the opportunity to complete requirements for postgraduate education.
Student-athletes who wish to pursue athletic training as a major can complete the program in a minimum of six years and are required to devote one uninterrupted semester per year completing clinical proficiencies and gaining clinical experience in the university's athletic training room and affiliate sites.
*Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education
